We are a local support group for adults who have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia or ME, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The group is run by volunteers who are also affected by these condions.
We meet on the first and third Wednesday morning of the month.
The group was set up in 2005 to support the sufferer and their families.
We are primarily a social group; a safe haven where you can come and have a chat with others, make friends and reduce the feelings of fear and isolation.
We go on small outings occassionally which are suitable for those who suffer from a fatigue illness. These trips are subsidised for members of the group.
We also have a small library of books about FMS and ME which can be loaned free of charge.
.
To raise awareness of both Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS together, with all the intrinsically linked symptoms associated with both conditions.
To share experiences and have the support of others in a similar situation.
To make friends and have fun.
To enable you to have some normality to life and to self manage the condition.
We have a stand at Kings Mill Hospital on the last Thursday of the month, from approx 10am -3pm. This is situated on 'the street' outside outpatient clinics. This allows members of the public to obtain further information about our group.
This is ideal for new members who perhaps would like information on a one to one basis.
If you see us there please come over and talk to us. Think of us as friends you haven't met yet.
