HYDROTHERAPY

Unfortunately due to current COVID-19 restrictions the hospital is unable to allow our group to access the hydrotherapy pool.

Hydrotherapy with a Physiotherapist supervising

We are lucky to be able to offer weekly hydrotherapy sessions at Kings Mill Hospital. These sessions are just for our group. Hydrotherapy can help with pain and aching muscles.

Any member who wishes to take part in hydrotherapy will need to complete a screening form.  This form  is then given to the physiotherapist. The physiotherapist will screen the form and decide whether a member is suitable to take part in hydrotherapy. Unfortunately, if the Physio deems a member unsuitable to access hydrotherapy you will not be added to the rota and will not be able to take part.

Cost

Sessions will cost £3 per week. This is payable in advance.  (please note the cost may increase if the hospital increase pool hire costs)

To make this cost-effective we need to ensure that the pool is at maximum capacity.  If you are unable to attend (for any reason) and your space cannot be filled at short notice, you will lose your fee for the missed week.

Hydrotherapy Rota

The pool is only able to accommodate a maximum of 8 people.

To ensure fairness to all members,  we are now starting a 6 week rota. This means you will be offered a place, which you can then attend for the next 6 weeks. On completion of the 6 weeks, your sessions will cease, however , if you wish to attend a further block of sessions you will be added to the waiting list  again.

Group membership

To be eligible to attend hydrotherapy you need to have  paid membership fees and attend group,  whether this be evening or daytime group meetings.

Q&A

If you have any further questions please speak to the hydrotherapy coordinator who can provide any further details and answer any questions. The name of the coordinator and assistant coordinator can be found when attending group.
